Document Object Model
(dom)
The basic definition behind what Internet page markup language attributes mean and how they are displayed. Sadly, each major browser maker uses a somewhat different DOM which is why pages may display differently on different browsers. The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) has the job of trying to develop a specification that will make all parties happy and support both HTML and XML.
