Classless Inter-Domain Routing
(C-I-D-R)
A new form of IP address that allows one IP address to represent multiple unique addresses in routing tables. A CIDR IP address has a slash at the end followed by a number (an IP prefix). The prefix specifies how many individual addresses the primary covers.
