American Mobile Satellite Corporation
(A-M-S)
A wireless, radio-frequency network that used to be called ARDIS (a company name, not an acronym). ARDIS was formed in 1990 as a joint venture of IBM and Motorola and was acquired by AMS 31 March 1998. The company is now named Motient Mobile Internet.
