ActiveX Data Objects

A Microsoft high-level interface for data objects. ADO is designed to access more than just relational databases; it includes items like spreadsheets, graphics, web pages, etc. It is designed to replace DAO (Data Access Objects) and RDO (Remote Data Objects). ADO is part of the Microsoft Universal Data Access (UDA) specification.
